If it`s a Sheriff/Marshall boot, call the MOF starter program to request that the vehicle be towed, or ask for tow truck status if a tow truck has already been sent. Most tows are done in 1 to 2 hours. When you report a started vehicle to the DOF, you must provide the registration number, description and location of the vehicle. For more information on started vehicles, see the Vehicle started page. Parking lighting must be used at night on any vehicle parked on an emergency roadway or lane outside cities. The vehicle shall be centred in space, without any part of the vehicle protruding into the lane. Driving only with parking lights (instead of headlights) is illegal. Always park on the right side of the roadway, unless it is a one-way street. Make sure your vehicle can`t move. There are no fees for the owner of the property or the owner of the vehicle. Certified letters are sent to registered owners informing them that the vehicle has been confiscated and will be auctioned if it is not redeemed. If you park a motorcycle, scooter or moped, you must follow the same rules that apply to other vehicles. It is illegal to park motorcycles, scooters and mopeds on the sidewalk. The city definition of commercial vehicles and trucks determines how you can park and drive your vehicle on city streets. Yellow taxis and vehicles with TLC plates are not considered commercial vehicles. Parallel parking is a driving technique that allows you to park parallel to the road in line with other parked vehicles. The following steps explain how to safely park in parallel.
